ROUND 2: Colorado Avalanche vs. Dallas Stars

      • "The regular seasons for the Dallas Stars and COlorado Avalanche were inconsistent at best."

The team that will move on the the West finals will be the team that can find some of that consistency. The Avs found it in there first round match-up, dispatching the Blues in 6 games. While the Stars are still looking for it. The got out to a 3 games to 1 lead against the Jets but needed a game 7 win to propel them to the 2nd round. Game 7 was the first game that the Stars were fully healthy so they will hope that is the cause for their inconsistency. 

The head to head matchups in the regular season favored Colorado, but 3 of the 4 games went into OT.

The main goal for GM Tang this offseason was to upgrade on D. It took untill a mid-season deal for Jake Middleton to fully see it come to fruition but during the regular season it definitely paid off. Time will tell if it is enough to carry this inconsistent team through the second round.

The series is tied 1-1 and the Stars have already shown the signs of the inconsistent team of this season as they won a tough 3-2 OT game and then followed it up with a 2-6 thrashing.
