That was quoted by GM Stephen in his press release earlier in the day, however true to form NYR GM Martins called with 5 minutes left before the deadline when word was leaked that Pavel Zacha maybe available.

In quick Martins fashion an offer was put on the table and after some brief conversation a deal was reached.

Coming back to Calgary is JT Compher, Carson Lambos who had previously been drafted by Calgary, prospect Julian Lutz, and a 2026 5th.

So why this move. Well its no secret that GM Stephen was looking to add more forward defensive depth for the stretch drive and Compher provides that, while the organization also gains 2 young assets. Who were previously drafted in the 1st and 2nd rounds. Time will tell how this will turn out but in the short term the Flames improve their defensive side while in the long term hopefully add 2 players that will contribute to the organization.
