St. Louis FA Announcements
2018-10-24Well this is no Calvin Pickard for a 3rd overall pick kind of off season in St. Louis. Whether it be by luck, skill or solid combination of both the St. Louis Blues “re tool” has almost come full circle. There are still a few more holes to fill in the lineup but with what some mediocre talent are being paid after the first few days of FA St.Louis was not willing to play ball. Obviously a few of the prospects we were hoping on did not make quite the splash that they were hoping, but they will be put into the fire come opening day on both of the professional levels. It appears on paper that both the St. Louis Blues and Chicago Wolves should be in contention for long playoff runs, most notably the Wolves.
Speaking of the Wolves, their contract is up at the end of this season and word on the street is that it could very well be their last as an affiliate with the St. Louis Blues. Obviously talks will resume before season’s end but things do not look good as some media members have said they have seen Stephens and his flunkies visiting abandoned buildings closer to home.
There were most certainly some blunders made last off season that were most certainly not repeated again this season. Most notably trading away their first round pick, and also signing Tanner Kero to an offer sheet losing some more valuable picks.
