Changing of the Guard in Toronto

2018-04-30

Toronto, Ontario -

Today the Toronto Maple Leafs have announced a change at the GM position naming Joseph T Bubanj as their new GM. When asked what the new position means to Mr. Bubanj, the New York born and raised took a deep breath, looked around the room and said in a calm but obviously excited voice  "I would like to thank the brass of the Toronto Maple Leafs organization for giving me a chance and naming me, a little known 45-year old from the state of New York as their new GM."

When asked about the current roster, Mr. Bubanj acknowledged that the Leafs have a “nice mix of veterans in Ryan Kesler, Marc-Andre Fleury, Erik Johnson along with young guns in Aleksander Barkov and Jake Guentzel who will provide fans with excitement today and for many years to come.  We have a nice foundation in the Toronto Maple Leafs organization and we will continue to build and we will not stop until we bring home Lord Stanley where he belongs, in Toronto."

With only a handful of games left in the season and the Maple Leafs seemingly out of the playoffs the raspy voiced New Yorker was asked what his plans are for the present and for the future.  “With the entry draft fast approaching I will get together with my scouts and continue to evaluate potential prospects.  With regards to the current roster, I am going to review the pro roster and the Marlies roster and decide on which players we want to bring back and which players we have no plans on bringing back.  I am going to try and keep it simple for the time being because we have an important draft to prepare for but you can expect changes.”

In closing, the newly hired General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs had this to say “I want to thank you all for coming out today and again I want to thank the Toronto Maple Leafs organization for giving me a chance and I can promise you that I will give you 110% each and every day.  Today I begin a new chapter in my life and the book will not be closed until I bring greatness back to the Toronto Maple Leafs organization and to the city of Toronto.”

"Thank you."
