Flames and Buffalo

On December 12, 2024, a deal was reached with the Buffalo Sabres and the Flames acquired goalie Linus Ullmark.

Going back to Buffalo was Jacob Trouba, Mark Kastelic, and 2026 2nd round pick. The Flames also received cash considerations and a late pick.

GM Stephen for several months had been checking in with GM Roberto on Ullmark and probably getting tired of the phone calls, GM Roberto finally accepted a deal he liked.

With Ullmark entering his final year of his contract, Ullmark has put up some great numbers. Heading into a visit with the Sabres tomorrow, Ullmark brings with him a 0.936 save percentage and a 1.70 goals against in 15 games.

Tomorrows game will be a tough one for the Flames as Buffalo is riding an 8 game win streak, and it will be Ullmarks first visit back in Buffalo since the trade.

When asked, Ullmark had this to say “there is going to be a wide range of emotions, I started my career in Buffalo and have many great memories, but that was then. Calgary has been great for my family and I, and now that I am Flame, I will do whatever I need to help the team succeed.”
