The Stars are heating up.

The season is well into the second half and the Stars are finally playing the kind of hockey that was expected from the beginning. The beginning of the season was an up and down adventure that saw Dallas toying with the Wild Card race, which had GM Tang contemplating starting a for sale thread. The height of these thoughts were after the April 5th game against the Blue Jackets. That game saw the Stars lose 5-2 on the road to bringing its current losing streak to 4 straight.

Instead of selling Tang does what he has been doing since he took over Dallas. He bought more. Dallas was able to bring in former Star captain, Cam Atkinson, as well as middle pairing D-man, Jake Middleton. The first game after the trade was a 1-0 loss bringing the streak up to 5 games.

After a day off at home, the Stars starting to kick it in gear. In the 23 games since, the Stars are 17-4-2, good 38 points in the 23 games. In this stretch they have had injuries to both Atkinson and Elias Lindholm, their #1 center. This hasn't phased the stars at all as they just kept humming.

At the beginning Head Coach Jared Bednar split up his two superstars, David Pastrnak and Kirill Kaprizov, between the top two lines. During this run, he has since paired them back up on the first line and they have responed masterfully. During this hot streak, Pasta has scored 35 points (22G,13A) in the 23 games. While Kaprizov and Lindholm has chipped in 25 and 24 points respectively. Lindhom doing so with less games as he was hurt for a few games. (Editors note: While writing this, Lindholm has once again been hurt, this time for the rest of the regular season.)

Time will tell if this current hot streak can last through the season, and into the playoffs, or will the Stars fall short of the ultimate prize once again.
