Flames sign veteran forward Zach Parise

Tonight, on the heels of a shootout loss to the Edmonton Oilers, news was swiftly moving through the Flames locker room the GM Stephen was quick to replace Patrik Laine, while he takes a leave from the team.

First off, I would like to reach out to Patrik and let him know that we, the organization from top to bottom and the fans of Calgary are here for you. Addressing your mental health is of the upmost priority and comes above anything else. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, and we look forward to the day you return to the Saddledome Ice, and grace us with the gifts you have been given and put on display for the fans of the game.

To ensure that the Flames remain competitive GM Stephen, signed forward Zach Parise to a one year, 7-million-dollar deal.

GM Stephen had this to say, “I understand we could have easily called up any of our young forwards to replace Laine, and we believe they would have done an admirable job in the bottom 6.However, when Parise reached out to us, we couldn’t turn him away. He brings a wealth of experience to our team, while allowing us to keep our younger players in Stockton where they can play in all situations and push Stockton into the playoffs. As always there will be injuries so they will get opportunities here, but we truly believe that Parise adds further depth and leadership to our team.

Parise is currently in Calgary and will be in the Flames line up for the next game against the Vegas Golden Nights.
