Seattle Announces Their General Manager
2021-07-23SEATTLE, Wash. – “EHE Seattle” today announced Brandyn Errickson as the new team’s inaugural General Manager, effective immediately.
After a meticulous months long search, the ownership group zeroed in on their man recently and once he became available, they wasted little time in courting him.
Coming to Seattle from Los Angeles, Errickson will over see all of the club’s hockey operations including hiring the team’s first ever head coach. Of course, he’ll also be in charge of all player personnel moves including drafting a player from the 31 other EHE franchises during the expansion draft as well as making the teams selections during the temporarily expanded EHE entry draft in August.
“This was a very sought-after position. We’ve had people from all over the world approach us through various channels trying to interview for the job. One of them even doing so while their current team was preparing for the EHE playoffs, he was immediately removed from our list of candidates. We were able to narrow our list down to a few current EHE GM's, but we wanted to wait until after the playoffs were over to contact them. However, when Brandyn announced his retirement from LA we immediately reached out to see what his plans were. He acknowledged interest in taking the position and we were able to come to terms pretty quickly. We went back through what he did as the GM of the Kings and there was a lot we liked. First, he kept a core team together that the team’s fans were familiar with. We felt that would be important for our fanbase. As a new franchise, getting players here and keeping them here will only help our fanbase grow. We also liked the trades he did make while in LA. He was able to keep the team competitive every year with minimal turnover. We know the Seattle sports fans and they will like how Brandyn will manage the team.” Said one of the team owners.
The new Seattle franchise will play its games at recently named, Climate Pledge arena which is expected to welcome a full capacity of 18,100 fans during the upcoming EHE season. Final renovations are being completed on the arena, but we expect it to be open for the start of the 2021-2022 EHE season.
We expect the newly announced GM to be available for a press conference in the coming days.

Way to keep it classy as usual B. Congrats on the gig. Leddy to Seattle?
