Will Smith is one of the sport’s most gifted, creative handlers – EHE or otherwise. He’s a threat to put together a highlight reel play every time the puck is on his stick, and with a nation-leading 71 points in 41 games as a freshman at BC, that happened at what would be a staggeringly high rate for just about any other player during his one year of college hockey. That skill almost always serves a purpose for Smith, whether it’s creating time and space to let plays develop or drawing opponents away from his linemates.
