Small Steps

First, the bad news; the Canadiens lost another game. The good news is the team showed some fight in the third as Dermott scored to make it 3-1 Washington. For his part, GM Forget liked the way the team finished by scoring in the third and going 5/5 on the PK. "These are the things that help a team turn the corner. You are down 3-0, then come out and finished the game hard rather than let the team blow the game out or shut you out. I also like the way our PK unit didin't give them any looks last night. Going 5/5 is a sign that this team still has some fight and pride left in them." The Canadiens would like to see the team begin to work on their shot differences. "Allen faced 34 shots while we only mustered 22. Those numbers have to change. Part of the change will come in the offseason when the defence gets a makeover. I would like to bring some grit and solid defensive players to the team. I want this team to be tougher to play against." Montreal also lost Green in the first period to injury. While the injury is not too serious he will most likely miss three games. The Canadiens have had a couple of teams kick the tires on Green. While nothing concrete has materialized, the Canadiens would like to move him out.
