The Price is 200!

2020-03-31

On Sunday, March 22nd, the Dallas Stars traveled to Minnesota to take on the Wild in what would become a historic night.

Carey Price won his 31st game of the year in 41 appearances to become the first goalie in EHE history to cross the 200 win threshold for his career. Price accomplishes this feat in his 342nd EHE appearance. He holds a career record of 200-111-26 with 24 career shutouts.

Price has had a dominating season in his 6th season in the EHE, all while backstopping the Dallas Stars franchise. Price currently has a 33-6-2 record for this season with a 2.35 GAA and a 92.1% save percentage. All these stats are setting the pace for the EHE Goaltenders this season. Price also earned his 3rd all-star honors for his career as he was named to Team Bubanj for the 2020 All-Star Game.

Price will be chasing 50 wins this year, and if he reaches that milestone, he will become the first EHE goalie to reach that elusive mark in EHE history as Robin Lehner currently holds the record with 49 wins for the 2016-17 Edmonton Oilers.

When reached for comment, Price only had the following to say: "I am grateful that I have had the opportunity to be the face of the Dallas Stars for the entirety of my career. Having won 2 Stanley Cups and reaching a 3rd finals in 5 years has been amazing. We have had a strong year thus far and hopefully we can continue to play strong for the rest of this season. I just want to thank all my teammates for their hard work. And lastly, I just want to thank the hockey gods that I was drafted into this great franchise instead of a dumpster fire such as the Chicago Blackhawks organization."
