Bates Steps Down As Devils GM 2019-11-07 General Manager Bates formally announced his resignation as Devils GM on Wednesday. The one year tenured GM cited personal life and ability to commit as his main reasons. "I wish the very best to all those involved in the EHE. It's been a ton of fun but unfortunately due to my personal life and schedule I am un certain about my ability to commit moving forward" Said Bates Bates was one year into an aggresive rebuild that saw many aging declining veterans moved in favour of picks and prospects. Bates' hope was to see this rebuild through fully, and hopes that the following GM will remain patient. "My hope is that those two 2020 1st Rounders, along with Barzal, and many of the pieces accrued will be integral to the long term perreneal success of The Devils moving forward." Said Bates Bates also apologized he would not be here to see this who rebuild process through. Only to add that despite that on the bright side, he is confident his long list of acquisitions will all be valuable assets for the organization moving forward. Names (in no particular order) like Frost, Garland, Barre-Boulet, Olofsson, Smith, Lundestrom, Carlo, Oettinger, Blais, Bouchard, Clifton, Dorofeyev, Heinola, Steen, Beaudin, Bemstrom, Sikura, Jonsson-Fjallby, Fix-Wolansky, Davies, Appleton, Durzi, Rempal, Fagemo, etc in no particular order will all be interesting to track moving forward. "Best of luck and well wishes to everyone in the EHE. So many great guys, it's really been a pleasure! Thank you Kevin for all of your work in running this amazing league." Concluded Bates
