Washington Capitals GM Steps Down

2019-09-06

Hey Everyone,

This news may come as a shock to some and not to others, it's a decision I've been thinking about for a few years now. I was close to resigning back in the 2017 off-season when I lost my mother to cancer. I stopped all the projects I had on the go and scrapped my big project of reviewing the top 5 trades per franchise after only completing 1 & 1/2 articles. This has been a theme for me over the last two years, starting big projects and not finishing most of them. This year I also lost my father to cancer, that has taken the wind out of my sails so to speak. I have a lot of stuff going on currently that will be taking up a lot of time, like buying my first house. These have all been contributing factors in my decision.

I enjoyed my time in the EHE and enjoyed the time spent with all of you talking hockey or whatever else pops up in discussions. I will miss this league but I know it will be a healthier league with a more active GM at the helm of the best franchise in the EHE.

Take care all,

Jared C. P. Mitchell
