Flames Off Season

2019-06-23

As the playoffs chug along to the Stanley Cup Finals the Flames have moved into the off season were GM Stephen has a busy season ahead. After seeing Brock Nelson moved along at the trade deadline to Anaheim with Josh Ho-Sang for Bode Wilde, Troy Terry, and Jordan Kyrou, the GM needs to add to look to Free Agency to bring in some support for the Calgary Flames to replace Nelson.

As for the Heat, there is high expectations for them. With the right additions to go along with incoming players like Troy Terry, Jordan Kyrou, Bode Wilde, potentially Owen Tippett, and Drake Batherson there is no reason why the Heat can’t return to the playoffs next season. Having the second overall pick will help with the future of the Flames.

As for Coach Bob Boughner rumor has it he has already been advised he won’t be returning to the Heat. As part of the continued development of the team it was decided mid-season the Flames would be going in a different direction.

Speaking of rumors, there was a rumor out there at the trade deadline that Cale Makar was looking at being moved. GM Steve confirmed this was the case and it was decided to hold off conversations until the off season and after the lottery draft. Those conversations may pick up and time will tell on the future of Makar with the Flames.
