Nashville gets rattled by 31st place Habs'

- MONTREAL, QB

The Predators have lost yet another game, this time to the 31st place Montreal Canadiens. The Predators have been on a downward spiral, only winning 4 of their last 14 games since dating back to the end of February.

Tonight, the Canadiens forced the game into OT, which was already bad news for the Predators as they have only won 3 of 12 games that have gone into overtime this season. As soon as Mikael Granlund lifted the puck over Michal Neuvirth's shoulder to win the game, the camera in the Bell Centre panned up to GM Eric Wolf who inaudibly was yelling profanities and proceeded to throw an unknown object across the press box. GM Eric Wolf, usually quiet and conservative in his approach, was quite livid after the final horn sounded. It's taken until game 55 of the 2018-2019 regular season for Wolf to finally break his silence.

"Don't let our place in the standings decieve you. We are currently 5th overall in the league, but all of our underlying numbers are trending down and trending down fast. 4 wins in our last 14 games is downright unacceptable. We had a very strong start to the season, but now we're limping like a wounded dog and going to see ourselves out of the playoffs looking in, unless things start changing quick around here."

The Predators do sit 5th overall in the league, a position most teams would gladfully be in right now, but when it comes to the Predators where expectations are high, and were almost unstoppable to start the season; it becomes a whole new factor when you lose 10 of your last 14 games. Concerns start to rise, questions begin to get asked.

It has been rumoured that MAJOR changes are on the horizon in Nashville, as the team scrambles to find that spark from earlier in the season that made them appear to be the Stanley Cup favourites, however with every game down the stretch, that spark is growing dimmer. Does Nashville have what it takes to climb back on the saddle of the Sabre Tooth Tiger (cringey analogy I know) or are the Predators pretenders?

We'll find out soon..
