Strong start, has fans excited!

The offseason moves appear to be paying off for the Lightning.  Tampa Bay is the only remaining team to have not lost a single game in regulation this year with a record of 4-0-3.  The early season success is in large part due to old man Luongo playing out of his mind. A 3-0-3 record, a GAA at 1.77 and a SV% at 0.931, for a goalie turning 40 before the end of the 2018-2019 is very impressive.  The question will be if Bobby Loo can continue to play at such a high level but also can the team continue to play so well. GM Hill believes that with the offseason moves that were made, this team is deep and well prepared for the long season.

Speaking of this additions, here are the key ones:

D Brett Pesce - Brought in to solidify a very mobile/offensive defense group, Pesce has not disappointed, leading the team in hits and tied for the lead on the team with a +4 rating while chipping in a goal and a couple apples to boot.  Pesce is still young and should remain a key piece for years to come.

D Andy Greene - A defensive defenseman and a character guy with lots of experience brought in to help clear the space in front of the ageless wonder, Luongo.  2nd on the team in blocks with 9 through 7 games will continue to play a steady game with minimal mistakes.

RW Justin WIlliams - Another older player brought in for leadership and to provide some secondary offense.  By secondary, I mean primary since the Radulov lines has been shit. Williams currently is tied for the 2nd on the team in points with 5, and has been a key piece to a successful PP so far this season.

C Nate Thompson - The prototypical 4th line center, good in the dot, responsibly defensively, not going score much but will lead by example and play mistake free hockey.  Knows his limits, stays within them.

Most of these additions all have one thing in common, to get to the playoffs, and to succeed in the post season.  They arnt stars or high priced guys, but they are players that win, and know how to do it.

Overall this team is built for the long rigorous season, IF, the old man tending the net can hold up for the season.  Time will tell, and every Tampa Bay fan is looking forward to seeing if the playoffs are finally the reality this year.
