Stars Name Ovechkin Captain

Dallas Stars coach Mike Babcock revealed what was probably the worst kept secret in sports during his press conference today. "While we wanted to wait until the end of training camp and the preseason to see how all of the new faces would interact within our lcoker room, it has always been pretty obvious that Alex Ovechkin would be the leader of this team. Goligoski and newcomer Roman Josi will round out our leadership group for the 2018-19 season. Other players were considered for assistant positions and will be relied on for their leadership even without a letter stitched to their chest, but we feel this is the group to handle our room this year. Alex Ovechkin's passion for this game is unparalleled and you can already see the players fall in line to how hard he practices and his strong will for winning. He just has a way of carrying himself on and off the ice that we would like all our players to emulate."

With the season beginning shortly, expectations are as high as ever in Dallas, and the dogfight in the Central division should be fun to watch as the season unfolds.
