Panthers new plan looks a lot like the old plan

The Florida Panthers have announced that Florida resident Jeff Kuntz has taken over as General Manager for the EHE club.

After painstakingly going over every asset the organization owns one-by-one, Kuntz issued the following post on the Panthers' social media accounts: “Actually, everything looks pretty good. The previous GMs had built this team from the net out which is exactly what I would have done. Quite frankly we just need to sit tight for one year while the player raters catch up with how good Rielly, Hanifin, Lindholm and Lindell are, and we'll have one of the best d-corps in the EHE. Plus, of course, Holtby between the pipes.”

In what could turn out to be the least active first month for a new GM in Elite Hockey Experience history, Kuntz urged patience among Panthers fans.

“We have an embarrassment of riches on the blue line, so we might explore divesting in exchange for some forward help or future-based assets. Other than that, we need to make a decision on whether to tag Zuke, or move on from him at some point this season, or just let him play out his contract year with us,” said Kuntz, adding, “But time is on our side with both of those decisions. And when you have time, you use it.”

The new Florida GM believes his team will compete for a play-off spot this season, and that a window of opportunity will open for the team to be championship contenders beginning next season.

Kuntz told Panthers fans that while he intends to mostly stand pat this season, he's going to deal picks and prospects next off-season to acquire the forward help the team will need to win it all.
