Andrew Ladd Signs Immediate Deal With Devils

On Wednesday morning sources confirmed that Andrew Ladd inked a deal with the New Jersey Devils.

Reports out of New Jersey state that the Devils will pay Andrew Ladd a total of $6,000,000 over 2 season, at an AAV of $3,000,000, with no signing bonuses included in the deal.

Ladd was introduced to the Devils media this afternoon, he spoke of why "oppourtunity" was a key contributer in his decision. What really stole headines, however, were comments regarding his meeting with Devils General Manager Cole Bates.

"He poured my Agent and I a double scotch on the rocks as soon as we walked in." 

"I didn't partake of course, but it was a cool, out of the box gesture I guess you could say."

Yea, sure Andrew, because LYING is a great way to win over your new fan base.

We all know (and hope) you crushed that double, like the stallion you are.

In all seriousness though: Whether or not Mr. Ladd accepted the beverage isnt even important here folks.

What is important, is the fact that these kind of reckless theatrics by our Devils GM can either go incredibly smooth (as they did), or COMPLETELY blow up in his face.

This time, it just so happened to work.

Perhaps we should take a gander into the mind of Andrew Ladd and attempt to see what he may have been thinking.

"You know what, I kind of like this a-hole. This is exactly the kind of savage I want as my General Manager!" 

To be frank, we really dont know what Andrew was thinking. It's certainly possible Mr. Ladd was so tuckered out from the whole Unrestricted Free Angency process, that all he really needed was a drink.

Perhaps Bates was already a step ahead. Perhaps, Bates knew this. MAYBE, Bates is a psychic. Heck, maybe hes a drunk?

The truth is, we may never know what really happened on the day Andrew Ladd signed with the Devils.

So heres to Mr. Ladd and our reckless new GM.  New Jersey could really use all the help we can get!

Now, time to pour one for myself!
