#T27to4

2018-03-18

Dallas, TX:

Immediately following the embarrassment that was the #T27to4 Dallas Stars marketing campaign, the organization fired all of the marketing team. GM Bob McGugan had this to say at a hastily called media scrum:

“I’m embarrassed. I’d like to apologize to the Chicago Blackhawks organization for the obvious attempt to piggyback off of their successful #30to1 campaign. Our marketing department, still disillusioned from the cancellation of the team Dance Party, was misguided in their last ditch effort to come up with an original marketing campaign as we prepare for our playoff push. Other ideas such as “Nya nya nya nya nya How Many Cups Have You Won?” and “FU Bitches” were quickly crushed, but somehow the hashtag campaign made it past quality control. We wish the Hawks all the best as they head towards wrapping up the EHE President’s Trophy Winner curse.”

With a wry smile, McGugan left the scrum…

PLAYOFF PUSH

The Stars currently sit 5th in the Gretzky conference, one point behind the Avalanche and three points behind the surprise Golden Knights. Having made numerous deals weeks and even months before the trade deadline to shore up the depth for this season’s playoff push, and the team’s long term success, the Stars are likely to be watching the trade deadline action instead of participating like years previous.

The AHL Mavericks are also in the hunt for a playoff push, currently in the 4th spot of the conference. Since dealing away goaltender Eric Comrie, Alex Lyon has taken the reigns and continues to hold the fort for the club as they march towards a 4th consecutive playoff appearance.
