Lightning strike felt across the EHE!!

It appears GM Hill and the Tampa Bay LIghtning have finally had enough of not being part of the EHE playoffs.  In a span of a couple days, The Lightning completed two important trades in the hope that it will solidify their chances at making the postseason.

The first deal brought in top six winger, Nick Foligno and a 5th round pick.  Of course, something has to be given up in order to get a player like Foligno, and that piece was 22 year old, Kevin Labanc, as well as prospect Frederic Allard.  “Bringing in Foligno solidifies our top six, losing Labanc hurts but you have to give to get in this league”, GM Hill said.

The second deal that was made, brought in leader, and newly appointed captain of The LIghtning, Andrew Ladd. Along with Ladd, The Lightning received a 3rd round pick. The casualty in this deal for the Lightning is disappointing, but skilled Anthony Duclair.  “Ladd isn’t quite the same point producer he was a years past, but he brings valuable leadership to our team that will be vital when it comes to the playoffs”.

Rumour has it that GM Hill is not done yet trying to improve his team.  Players such as Steve Santini, Xavier Ouellet, Erik Gudbranson, Jannik Jansen, Jake Dotchin, Marko Dano and Louis Domingue have all had their names thrown around.  Time will tell what is in store for Tampa Bay.
