Blackhawks Cruising Along

It's season 1 of the EHE and the Chicago Blackhawks have yet to lose.  They have ridden strong offensive performances, and accentuated that with some very good defensive and goaltending performances.

"It's nice to see a piece of work that I put together actually performing well.  We managed to put our systems in place right away and now we'll look to carry it through the regular season."

The Blackhawks were led by Joe Pavelski with 6 points (3 goals and 3 assists), and who is followed by Jay Boumeester and David Desharnais both with 5 points.  In a surprise move the Blackhawks rode the goaltending of Michael Neuwirth who sported a sub 2.0 gaa, and highlighted his preseason with a shutout over the Edmonton Oilers.

"I know Michael is aware that Jonathon is our starting goalie, and that we were looking at giving him some looks early on.  We are all aware of the quality of play Michael can give us and he will be great teammate.  Pavelski?  what can we say, he is taking on a very important role and running with it."

With every positive mention, there will always be a negative mention and right now it seems to be the power play that is running at a dismal 7% clip.  If the Blackhawks are to challenge for the cup, they will need to work on that power play.
