Fight to the finish!

The time has come to bear down and win some hockey games if the Shaun Stephens led St. Louis Blues want to make the playoffs for the first time in Stephens' tenure as gm of the Blues.

As of right now they currently have the same amount of points as the Anaheim Ducks but have the tie breaker of ROW by a large margin over the Ducks.  In fact it is impossible for the Ducks to catch the Blues in ROW so from now till the end of the regular season and tie in points would go in the Blues favour.  As enticing as that sounds, there is no way the Blues want to sneak in the back door only to have it slammed in their face by a far superior Avs squad.  They are looking to move into that 2nd wild car position which is only 1 point ahead of them at the moment.

Making the playoffs is not going to be an easy feat, especially since 3 out of there 5 remaining games are at home where they play well under .500 hockey.  Not only is that something that seems like it might go against the Blues favour, they also have to face 3 division leaders in those five games against teams they have not faired well at all against this season where the have gone a combined 1-6 ouch!  The saving grace one might think would be the other two games are against bottom dwellers Chicago and Arizona.  Well yes and no, the Blues have gone a combined 2-4 against these teams which will be must win games in order for them to have a remote possibility of making the playoffs. Lets have a look at the 3 teams fighting for two spots upcoming schedules and see where that leads.
