A Mrazek for your thoughts

Red Wings GM Cisco Valle made it known he was losing a stud goaltender to the expansion draft.

Size made sure to take advantage of it.

Size and the Habs acquired their future in the crease by acquiring Petr Mrazek from the Red Wings for their first round pick and offensive defensive prospect Adam Fox.

"We had been mulling our goaltending situation with the expansion draft looming and Mrazek's availability created the ultimate solution. It's tough to give up a prospect like Fox but Mrazek gives us long term stability in net for a long time."

Once the trade was announced, speculation picked up on the future of Johnathan Quick in Montreal.

"Quick was well aware of our intentions to acquire Mrazek understanding what was at stake. We've assured Quick that he will remain the starter for now but is also aware that there's a strong possibility he could be moved before deadline as well."

On the outside looking in now appears to be Eddie Lack but size has stated that Lack won't be going anywhere now.

"Lack fits the criteria for exposure in the upcoming Las Vegas draft. He was also aware of the situation and has remained a true professional, we couldn't ask anything more of him."

The Habs have options now in net and could rotate all of them to keep everyone fresh as the Habs try to restabilize in the Atlantic division.
