Buffalo's Recent Struggles

2017-01-24

With the Sabres sitting in 7th in their division and 21st in the EHE, there’s no doubt that something needs to be done. It’s not long ago that Sabres GM Roberto Martucci announced he is looking to shake up his team, with anyone on the Sabres roster being available if the right offer comes around.

“Nobody on this team is untradeable, besides Auston Matthews. I love what I see from him and he’s going to be a Sabre for a very long time. He’s a special talent and we are looking forward to building a team around him. Right now our roster needs some work, and we have been looking around for possible deals to be done, however nothing has materialized. We are looking towards the future. If we can get ourselves some talented young players or some draft picks in the right moves, we will definitely consider it”.

With the trade deadline around the corner, look for the Sabres to be sellers. There is a clear direction within the organization. Now it’s all about building a foundation for that direction.
