Hospital to Headlines

2016-11-16

GM Kris Muchowski of the New Jersey Devils makes his return to the front office today after over a month on the side lines spent in the hospital dealing with blood clots.

Coming back with a bang, he immediately trades long time Devil, Kyle Okposo, to the Nashville Preds for Brayden Schenn. A straight up hockey trade. The Preds in need of a Right winger and the Devils in need of a Left winger. GMs Eric Wolf and Kris Muchowski started talks late last night and come the morning the deal was signed and submitted to head office.

“This is a fantastic trade for both teams. We get a little younger without getting any weaker, which is fantastic, and get to shore up the left side. We had excess Right wingers and now we will be a better more balanced team moving forward” - Gm Muchowski

Schenn and Okposo have both put up 8 points so far this season, and will continue to see top 6 if not top 3 minutes with their new clubs going forward.

With the addition of Jaromir Jagr this off season, who is lightning it up so far with 13 points in 11 games, a potential new line mate in Brayden Schenn could elevate both games that one step more.

Taking no time to step back into the office and make moves GM Muchowski released this statement:

“I am so happy to be back. Thank you to my leadership team for keeping the ship straight while I was away. Thank you to my players for continuing to work hard day in and day out, and thank you to my fellow GMs for the well wishes. I am back and ready to help lead this team all the way!"
