Klingberg traded to Islanders! 2016-07-15 Big news here in Winnieg today as Jets General manager Jonathan Tremblay traded all star d-man John Klingberg to New York Islanders. In exchange, the Jets acquired Jason Dickinson, Denis Guryanov, 19th overall pick in this year draft, Griffin Reinhart and David Savard. Journalist: " Joe, what was your motivation to do this kind of trade? " GM: " Well, me and my staff were looking to our team after last season and we saw some lack in the deph departement. Our team has some really good player, but that's all. Our 2nd, 3rd and 4th line are not good at all. We decided to get some prospects to file those holes in the future. Journalist: "Why John Klingberg?" GM: "John was the more attractive player we have to get to the deal we wanted to had. We phoned some GMs to finnaly get tjis deal" Journalist: "Can you talk about the new players you got?" GM: "Well, David Savard is a good two way d-man who can play a lot of minutes in a game. He is a top 4 d-man and we expect him to well fit in our team next year. Denis Guryanov is a really good prospect with a lot of offensive skills. His shot is terrific, he can put the pcuk where he wants. He needs to work on his consistency before getting in the next level. Jason Dickinson is a guy we really like. He is already a leader and have the ability to play on both side of the ice. He will probably be a guy to play on a 2nd or 3rd line in the future. He will start the season in the AHL. Griffin Reinhart is one of those big d-man who needs time to develop. If he can rech his potential, he could be a really effective defensive d-man for a long time. And for the 1st pick, it's always fun to draft player for our prospect pool. We think that we could have a really good player with this pick" Well, Jets GM seems to be very happy with this trade but the fans have not the same view as Klingberg was on of the fan's favorite here in Winnipeg. We will see in the next few years who really wins this trade!
