Habs set for rematch with Leafs
2016-04-24The Habs had arguably the best second half in EHE history and that wave has carried them into a first round rematch with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The rivalry took flight last year as the teams grinded out a wild 7 game series which saw the Habs use home ice advantage to seal a 7 game series win against their hated rivals and this series begs to be just as wild.
"We know what these guys are capable of dating back to last season and we expect them to be just as nasty as they were and always have been." Captain Claude Giroux came out saying leading up to their first round matchup Monday night!
The Habs look relatively different compared to last year with the additions of guys like Nash, Steen, Lucic, Oshie and Quick to the mix and Martin locking down the blue line crew since coming over from Washington.
Dispite losing to the Leafs on the last day of the regular season, the Habs open up the series at the Bell Centre where the Habs were the best Home team in the EHE and the only team in the Lemieux Conference to win 30 games at home this season.
"The fans are going to be the backbone of our success. We feed off their energy and we play harder for them. Said T.J. Oshie.
The Habs have setup for what hopes to be a successfully long playoff run and hope to carry their second half wave of momentum and set the EHE playoffs on fire!
Go Habs Go!
