Lundqvist: "It's just not my type of town"

2014-12-06

Seems like the Columbus BlueJackets are starting in early EHE turmoil.

It is reported that Henrik Lundqvist flat out told GM Alex Nellis that he was immediately requesting tio be moved.

In an interview with SSN (Swedish Sports network) Lundqvist was very honest "First off, I can't believe I didn't go in the first round... but those thing all go with team needs....but Columbus Ohio is simply not my type of place... I don't see myself there"

The BlueJackets were quick to react to this news as it spread like wildfire.

"I think it is based on emotion... I spoke to Drew Doughty, he was pumped about coming to play for us... my plan is to meet with Henrik in the coming days and show him around town and show him that this organization will be for real" Said GM Nellis.

When asked if it was possible to trade the all-star goalie "Well, it's way too early... but at the end of the draft, if Henrik is still bitter about being here - we will have to go through the trade route...but I hope it doesn't come to that cause he is one of the best!".

One thing is certain - if Henrik was to be traded to a team prior to season start, that would make a heck of a first EHE trade!

More details to come...
