Sabres Return from Break
2024-05-21The Buffalo Sabres entered their week long break with a 34-14-3 record, good for 1st in the Atlantic division. They were playing quite well but got hit with a couple of injuries and really struggled in their western road trip where they came out with 0 points against Dallas, St. Louis, Winnipeg and Minnesota, losing those 4 games by a combined 20-10. It was not pretty but they got a win against Carolina right before the break started and they hope they can continue that momentum for the final 31 games of the season.
The Sabres are still without Lawson Crouse, who has been an excellent addition to the team’s 3rd line and power play. Since he’s gone down with injury the team has struggled to find someone to fill his role. There are some reports out there that the Sabres have been active on the phones as they try to solidify their roster going down the final stretch and playoffs. The deadline will approach quickly and they will surely try to add to their roster.
The Sabres come out of their break tonight as they host the Calgary Flames. They are hoping that getting Acciari back from injury during this break will help the bottom 6 and they can hopefully get a win.
