One franchise star out, one franchise star in.

The most recent trade by the New Jersey Devils sent shockwaves throughout the fanbase and the league. Trading away the 1st draft choice ever made by the Devils and face of the franchise, Mat Barzal, along with young star defenseman Mario Ferraro and the 44th pick in the 2022 EHE Entry Draft.

Barzal finishes his career as the Devils franchise leader in Games Played (375), Goals (126), Assists (181), Points (307), PP Goals (31) and Game-Winning Goals (17).

“This was a very tough decision for me to make but when a player like Point becomes available, it’s not an opportunity you pass up or don’t at least check in on. Over the past 2 years there were areas that we still needed to improve on and Brayden can help us in those specific areas but not hurt us in others.
