Handed The Reins

  Ivanna Shagnow " Hi, and welcome I'm reporting live from Philadelphia for the Hockey Stuff news as the team is about to hold a press conference to announce the signing of their new GM and team President Wes Mucyk.  Even the mayor Jabroni Pretzel is here today to welcome and make the announcement.  Let's listen in as Wes is about to speak."

Wes Mucyk" Hello, I am thankful and exited to be here, and  I would like to thank everyone for coming here today.  I look forward to the opportunity that I have been given and welcome all the challenges that managing an EHE team brings.   A special thanks goes out to the Philadelphia Flyers and it's owners for giving me this opportunity, and to all the Flyers fans who have been very welcoming.  I look forward to seeing you all at our games.

   Now before I jump in and say on whether, oh we're going to rebuild or be competitive, first I'll need to get a good feel for my pro roster and the whole organization.  Learn the league a little and bounce around the trade market a bit to see how she sounds.  Changes will be made as I will put my own personal stamp on the organization.  Earlier today I did make some changes to our scouting staff, as I had to let some of them go, but I did bring in some of my own people that worked close beside me down with my Junior team.   These are people I trust, have the same thinking when it comes to hockey related matters and they just simply really know their stuff and have incredible eyes for talent.

    As everyone knows, the end goal is to win championships.  Not just at the pro level, but you want you team down in the minors to also have success.  I plan to build similar teams at both levels that run very similar styles, thus making it an easy transition for our young guys to go pro and hit the ground running with an understanding of our team structure.

   I have plans to talk with the coaching staff of both our pro and Minor teams tonight.  Just to get a feel as to what everyone thinks is the best way to build a team is.  Maybe get some of their ideas, feelings as to how some of the players are doing, and what they feel is best for the team going forward.  We've gotta all be on the same page eventually, see things one way.

  So, now as I leave I'm going to pass around these sheet's of paper.   Print them, post them, give'em to the pope,  whatever, just spread the word, it'll save me some time as there's lots of work to do.  Again, I'd like to thank you all for coming, have a great night."  Wes Mucyk
