Red Wings recap and things to come

2015-07-13

Detroit is looking forward to the Entry Draft and towards a new outlook for next season. The Wings enter the Entry draft with the 4th overall pick and GM Fedorov has not released yet who they would take after McDavid and Eichel go in the draft. He hasn't really dropped any hints either saying "well we are pretty sure McDavid and Eichel will go 1 and 2 then it depends on Washington does then we will figure it out".

The Wings are excited becaues they also hold the #2 and #3 pick to start the 2nd round and will be looking to nab 3 great players with those first 3 picks to help further push the Wings team into becoming a great team.

We have some holes in our lineup Fedorov said, so we are hoping some of the rookies come into training camp ready to push for a spot on the team.

The Wings had one of the leagues best point producer in Alex Steen who was able to put up 23 goals and 29 assists for 52 points in 46 games on one of the worst teams in the league. His linemate Vladimir Tarasenko will look to have a monster season playing with Steen and possibly Tatar.

Their defense next season will be lead again by Sami Vantanen and Torey Krug.

With players like Kucherov, Sheahan and Hoffman helping out the offense the pressure will be on the defense and the goalie duo of Petr Mrazek and Joni Ortio though Connor Hellebuyck is knocking on their heels to become the starter.

Their special weapon is hoping Jonathan Drouin turns out to be the stud the Wings organization knows he can become.

Stay tuned to see what the Wings do come draft time

Rumor: They have gotten a few calls for the 4th overall pick but nothing yet that stands out to make them give up a potential franchise player at 4.
