AHL Wagon in Belleville?

The 2020-2021 EHE Season is one of high expectations for the AHL's Belleville Senators.

An eventful offseason for served to benefit Belleville. Multiple additions were made to the roster, while Lane Lambert was brought in as The Sens new bench boss.

This season is a prime opportunity for players within The Sens system to stake a claim and earn a shot with the big club. Anything shy of a deep playoff run will be seen as a disappointment for Belleville.

The new-look roster brings a wide range of youth, experience, and skill. Among some of the bigger additions were Chris Terry, Matt Moulson, Michael Stone, Gemel Smith, and Aaron Ness. Key returnees include Logan Brown, Kevin Stenlund, Max Jones, Charles Hudon, Michael Chaput, Eric Comrie, and Matt Irwin. Talented youngsters Eeli Tolvanen, Lucas Elvenes and Mikhail Berdin will continue to develop in supporting roles due to a wealth of depth. Veteran Matt Moulson will serve as team Captain, while Nate Prosser, and Matt Irwin willl be The Sens Alternate Captains.

A statement from the GM:

“Coming in, there was an emphasis on ensuring our AHL affiliate would have the weapons to compete for a Calder Cup. I am excited because this group brings a blend of everything you want, we can roll 4 lines. There will be heavy competition for ice time. Let’s see if they can put it all together.”

After two wins against the Laval Rocket and a commanding win over the Marlies, The Senators are back in action on day 10 against GM Bates' former AHL affiliate Springfield Thunderbirds. Things look good early, but there is still plenty ot prove.
