Avalanche Release Statement To Fans Regarding Monster Offer Sheet

Coming into this summer, we made a plan to get back to greatness. After reaching back to back Stanley Cup Finals and winning one we have since faced dissapoinment, losses, failure. As a result of these short comings there has been turnover. We have moved out two captains in the last 12 months. We took leaps this summer adding premier EHE players. The quest to get back to the pinnacle does not end with this offer sheet. The Colorado Avalanche are pleased to announce they have matched an offer sheet from the Vegas Golden Knights and have re signed Mark Scheifele to a 4 year contract with an annual salary of $10,100,100 and a signing bonus of $12,120,120

When asked to comment Lycar left Denver media with his now notorious quip from the first day Lycar took over as the Colorado GM "Prospects are cool, parades are cooler"
