2016 Player Deactivations

The following list of players will not be eligible for EHE play next season, due to retirement or agreements they have with teams in Europe or Asia. You may still retain their rights depending on their contract situation and age. Should they return to play for an NHL organization next season, they will qualify for reactivation.

*Goalies on this list may remain active for next season, if they have not retired and it is specifically requested by the GM who holds their rights.

May 31 update:

The most notable one here as it relates to EHE is Tim Brent. Here's a guy that for no good reason kept bouncing around the waiver wire, when he should have cleared waivers the first time. How do you create a new identity for yourself? Head shot someone during overtime of the final playoff game of your EHE season and then retire. Bravo, Tim. Bravo.

That is correct. Goalies are only allowed to be extended during the direct season that they transfer overseas.
