2020 Free Agency: FP/ELC Signing

Post by Kevin » Thu. Nov. 12, 2020 5:00 am

You may now begin signing entry-level players that were activated from your organizational rosters (prospects list), as well re-signing any franchise players.

I have prepared a list for everyone that shows who they have available to sign.
http://www.elitehockeysim.com/File/2020 ... esign.html
Please report any errors or missing players that you may find!

This list should be used as a guideline only and GMs should refer to the Fair-Market Value table in the CBA in order to calculate their contract offers for franchise and entry-level players. Please report any errors that you may find!

Keep in mind that the salary values you do not necessarily mean that you need to sign these players at the exact amounts provided in the FMV chart. You may be able to lower a player's base salary if you pay funds up front through signing bonuses. There are also restrictions on the length of term you may give an entry-level player, which depends on that player's age. Please read the free agency and signing bonus sections of the CBA for full information on signing your players. Please ask any questions in this thread!

You must use the sim client software to sign your entry-level and franchise players, through the free agents button on your team overview. After you have input your offers, you must save your team file and upload it to the league server in order to complete the signings.

For additional help with how to sign your Entry-Level and Franchise players, please refer to the 2016 instructional video for how to submit offers for your.

Offers for these players should be submitted by 11:59pm EDT on Sunday, November 15. Any players left unsigned will become unrestricted free agents. NO EXCEPTIONS!

PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS in this thread!

Can I first upload a file with FP/ELC Signing and then a new file with RFA Signing? Or should I do it at the same time?

Filip Larsson
ELC contract - 58 overall
FMV scale - 700,000

From the CBA:

"The maximum base salary that any entry-level player may sign for is $925,000 per season. GMs are
permitted to "alter" the base salary of an entry-level player by awarding a signing bonus when their contract
is negotiated, which cannot exceed 10% of its total value."

Question is - if he is set to receive 700k can I still use 10% Signing Bonus to make his base salary 630k or because minimum salary in the league is 700k - does it make Filip Larsson not eligible for a SB?

I'd do it at the same time to make it easier and less chance of creating an issue ... plus the deadlines are the same.

When you upload upload a file to the site it automatically overwrites the last file you uploaded. So you’ll want to submit all your signings (FP/ELC/RFA) in one file.

If you just do a few of the signings and then save the file...you can come back to it later you just have to make sure you open up your "saved lines file" and the previous offers you did should be there. So as Travis said, do not upload the file until you are good and ready, but if you do make sure you open up your previously saved file and ADD on to it rather then start again.

All of those responses are correct :)

As long as I've loaded your file into the simulator, you'll be ok. So like, right now I see files for the Sharks, Blue Jackets, Panthers, Predators, Blackhawks, Penguins, Lightning, and Rangers in the queue. I plan on loading these a little bit later tonight. But like Shaun said, the safest thing to do is to load your team file first before adding any other offers.

I'll probably start processing ELC and Franchise Player offers on Friday night just to get a head start on things. Though if any corrections needed to be made before Saturday night, I will allow it. I cannot allow any offer corrections to be made after Saturday though (except for invalid offers) because of the offer sheet deadline.

The list has been updated to reflect the minimum salary these players must be signed to. Again, please double-check all of your work. There is always a possibility that a salary on this list is not accurate to the rules in place!

I'm sorry, it is my first offseason here and I didn't quite understand the rules of resigning. For example Morgan Rielly. His last salary was 2,000,000 per season. The rules say:
These players will be eligible to be re-signed by their clubs at a minimum base salary of 110% of their previous contract or fair market value, whichever is greater

That is, his new salary should be either 2,200,000$(2,000,000*1,1) or 4,000,000$ according FMVImage

4,000,000$ greater than 2,200,000$, so I thought that it should be 4,000,000$, but in the updated list says that his minimum salary should be 4,400,000$
Image

Explain to me please why 4,400,000 and not 4,000,000? Is it an error in the list or mine?

Hi Shean,

The reason is because Morgan Rielly was tagged as Franchise player.

Per CBA:
Any RFA-eligible player that is tagged may be re-signed when their contract expires at a 10% raise above
their previous yearly salary or 10% above Fair Market Value, whichever is greater, up to EHE's set maximum
player salary
So 4.000.000 mil is his Fair Market Value but needs 10% because he is Franchise tagged which is 400k so together that is 4.4mil
