Belleville Senators Relieve Head Coach Kevin Dean of His Duties

2020-01-01

Here we are again. GM Arsenault making more marks on his new franchise, this time now former Belleville coach Kevin Dean is the victim. Kevin Dean was relieved of his duties on New Years Day 2020, after leading Belleville the last 2 years. Dean had an 86-66 record in those years and lead them to the playoffs both years, but failed to do any damage.

GM Arsenault wanted to make sure he brought in a guy with leadership, experience, and a good teacher. A guy who has the experience teaching younger players, teaching them how to play the right way at both ends of the ice. Dealing with a young team like Belleville is gonna be, is tough for any coach. Dealing with so many young hotshot player who have all dominated their juniors leagues and have always been the go to guy. In the pros its different, you can't get by on talent alone anymore, as the great Herb Brooks once said "Boys you don't have enough talent to win on talent alone". Teaching them how to play in a system, adapting to different roles and in some cases completely changing how they play the game in order to reach the NHL.

Kevin McCarthy is the guy who can lead this team to greatness. He comes with more leadership, more experience, more knowledge then Kevin Dean. He is a leader of men, a guy who men want to follow, a guy who can unite a locker room. He played 10 years in the NHL himself from 77-87 with the Flyers, Penguins and Canucks. He even served as Vancouver's captain from 79-82. He is a born leader.

Kevin also have a 2006 Stanley Cup win, and a 1988 Calder Cup win. He already has the taste of the Calder Cup and he is hungry for more. This is the guy who will lead the Belleville Senators to the Calde Cup.
