Busy off-season in Boston
2017-08-06Last year, Gm Prach stayed really quiet. He made one major move but other than that, he add veterans Hossa, Bouwmeester, Mclement, Winnik and Martin... Expectation was high with the mix of young talent with accomplish veterans. The end resullt was the best record for the regular season but a disappoint lost in the first round. To close the season, Gm only said: 'There will be change...' Nothing less, nothing more.
No more Vegas, more freedom..
The Bruins added Schwartz, Dumba, Sheary, Reinhart, Burakovsky, Danault, Matheson and Forbort. All those young talent that still need to fil some potential are younger than 25, with contract we can manage long term. None of the main core had been touch. From Kane, Seguin, Karlsson, Subban, Hedman, Galchenyuk, Eichel to Allen, the core remain intact.
'We never had in mind to move those guys, the experience they got from last year will be beneficial and we are building around them. We love all the acquisition we made and we clearly believe they will fit perfectly in this team. Regarding adding veterans, we'll let the kids play there game. Coach Mclellan know how to handle and push them. Karlsson, Kane, Subban, Martin are old enough to take care of the leadership part.'
Draft 2017...
'We don't feel we have a urgent need of prospects, our team is young already. We'll have plenty of time to prepare for next year draft and even let those kids develop 4 to 6 years. We did pick Ostap Safin in the third round, we like him and his power forward style, more consistance on his play and we believe we have a top 6 guy in less than 3 or 4 years.'
More change? Free Agents?
The Lineup expected show that the Bruins will need to fil some position for Providence and maybe one or two guys for their Nhl fourth line.
'We don't expect much, we circle some guys but we feel we did 95 percent of our homework before next season start. I'm not a huge fan of free agency, especialy this year. Next year though, with all the the big contracts coming to end, there is gonna be a lot of good players. We'll be ready if we need it. For now, it's more depth and taking care of Providence. We firmly believe that we can go to the Stanley Cup this year.'
