Sharks Hire New GM 2020-09-17 The San Jose Sharks wasted no time in naming a new GM, the team was eager to get someone at the helm in time for the off-season. That person is former Washington Capitals GM Jared Mitchell. Jared was the all-time leader in wins in the EHE at the time he stepped down, a claim he is eager to get back. The front office has already made it's first decision, choosing not to bring back head coach Dave Hakstol. "Dave did a great job with this team last season and we wish him all the best in his future endevours." Said GM Mitchell at his social distancing press conference this morning. "We will be evaluating this team top to bottom and putting a plan in place for this off-season. My scouting team has been busy all year and even though we only have a fourth round pick this year, we will be well prepared for it." The GM will be meeting with his players this week where he's expected to make it known who is on the block and who is safe. We should get some rumours coming down the pipeline soon as a result of these meetings. Stay tuned!
