Draft question

Post by Dream Walker » Sun. Apr. 19, 2015 12:18 pm

Had a question and didnt know where to put it.

In our draft when we gonna draft a guy like McDavid, who surely will play in NHL next year because *cough* Oilers.. Will he be only a prospect like couple of our guys now?

We wont be able to put them on the roster?

I bet McDavid will play full season in NHL but we will have to wait a year to get him on the roster?

Any 2015 draftees would sit on our prospect lists for 1 season minimum.

There's no logical way to rate a player who hasn't yet played professional hockey when ratings are released. If that was the case, six of your prospects would have already been activated before the season began.

The list is out of unsigned prospects that are re-entering this year's real draft and only Victor Crus Rydberg (MIN) is owned by an EHE team. He is the only player that could potentially be drafted in the 2015 NHL class that will not be eligible for the 2015 EHE draft.

I misread the info and actually Crus Rydberg is an unrestricted free agent.

The following players from the 2013 NHL Draft class were not signed before June 1 and will re-enter the 2015 NHL Draft:
Alexandre Belanger

Miles Liberati
Brent Pedersen

The following players from the 2013 NHL Draft class were not signed before June 1 and are unrestricted free agents IRL:
Miro Aaltonen
Gabryel Boudreau
Brendan Burke

Victor Crus Rydberg
Mitchell Dempsey
Blake Heinrich
Jackson Houck
Pavel LaPlante
Eric Locke
Marc McNulty
Eric Roy

We are less than three weeks away from the highly-anticipated EHE Entry Draft! This year's draft is packed with talent and will last seven (7) rounds for this special occasion!

The first three rounds will be held via a live chat session, much like what we did with the Inaugural Draft. It will take place on Sunday, July 19 at 2pm EDT / 11am PDT / 9pm EEST / 6pm GMT. Please expect that this will take 3-4 hours to conduct. Teams will have 3 minutes to make their picks, although it should not take longer than 2. Each team will have one 5-minute timeout during the live session so that you may have extra time to complete a trade, take care of business in the bathroom, or to deal with your mom yelling at you to clean up your room.

The process will be much more strict during the Entry Draft than it was for the Inaugural Draft. Teams will only be given ONE warning during the live portion of the draft for selecting an invalid player or one who has already been taken. Any further instance of this or not making your pick promptly will result in your pick being dropped down 15 spots so that you can better prepare yourself. During the forum portion of the draft, your pick will be forfeited if you take an invalid player or one who has already been selected.

Remember, the draft pool is not limited to just the 2014 and 2015 NHL Entry Draft classes! For further info on player eligibility, please refer to the CBA.

For anyone who cannot make it to the draft on this day, please inform the commissioner and forward your lists to another GM that *will* be in attendance so that they can proxy your picks for you. Every team is expected to either be at the draft or provide a list. Don't be the next Rex Leak.

Get ready and be prepared! There are a lot of smart GMs in our league and you don't want to fall behind the curve because you only made a list of 12 players. If everyone does their part, this will be a LOT of fun!

For anyone wanting a spreadsheet with the order of players taken in the actual 2015 NHL Entry Draft, you can download it here.

Some of you have asked for a full list of eligible players for the draft. I will not be able to provide one this year, as the number of eligible players is well over 500. Hopefully this can be done in the future. The only player not eligible from the 2014 or 2015 draft classes is Nathan Walker, as he was selected in the Inaugural Draft due to a technicality.

Any players who went undrafted but are currently signed to NHL organizations ARE eligible as long as they are not older than 25. Undrafted free agents signed by NHL organizations after July 15, 2015 will not be eligible for this year's EHE Entry Draft.
