I kind of like how you actually have to put some thought into making the offers....

I really like how you can put zero thought behind any offer!!
Ok, seriously though. If we have the top offer, will we know when we've been outbid and have an opportunity to counter-offer?

The highest bids get posted every 24 hours. If nobody makes a bid of at least 10% over the previously posted highest bid - then that previously posted bid wins. So, if you are highest bidder on a player the last posting and someone outbids you, you will see the higher bid when Kevin posts tonight after the deadline.

Isn't there always a 5% chance though that a player will accept the highest offer? So say you're waiting to see if anyone beats your offer. Is there a chance someone counters your offer and the player just automatically accepts that offer before you have a chance to counter? Should you always keep raising your offer to prevent this from happening?StaticMonkey wrote:The highest bids get posted every 24 hours. You are all correct! Travis, if you re-raise your own offer though, you're going to keep the player on the market for extra days, rather than letting them sign with you if nobody else makes a higher offer. Otherwise, yes, every new high offer gets a chance to hit the 5%.Travis-Canucks wrote:Isn't there always a 5% chance though that a player will accept the highest offer? Speaking of which, today's 5% signings were:
Jaromir Jagr, NJ
Gregory Campbell, BUF
Nate Thompson, CGY (offers being made by the league for now after Layne was let go)
Sam Gagner, DAL (8% chance as Stanley Cup winner AND the extra percentage actually came into play here, as Gagner drew a number '8')
Philip Larsen, BOS

I'm assuming the 10% raise is based off of the CCV since we can't actually see the salary being offered by other teams, correct?
