2015 Free Agency: RFAs
Posted: Tue. Sep. 22, 2015 4:44 pm
Today we will begin the window for tendering offers to your restricted free agents and for submitting an offer sheet to an RFA of another team, if you wish.
You may view a complete list of restricted free agents (by team) at the following link:
http://www.elitehockeysim.com/File/2015 ... 6-RFA.html
The amount listed is the salary the players earned last season. You will need to review the CBA to determine whether the minimum you need to raise a player's contract is 10% or the Fair Market Value (FMV). Unlike entry-level contracts and UFA signing, the ONLY way that you can lower a player's base salary through signing bonuses is if the FMV would give the player more than a 10% raise over last season's salary -- The player still must maintain the 10% raise minimum.
Unfortunately, the website is still not equipped to automatically calculate contract offers for you. Instead, you will need to use this spreadsheet to calculate the value of your contracts. This is not a situation of Base+Bonus=Contract Value! The value of a contract is run through different formulas depending on the % of raise the player is receiving, the term of the offer, and whether it is a one-way or two-way contract. You will be able to find this "contract value" by entering the salary information in the appropriate row. Please refer to the video instructions for more information on how to use this calculator.
When you are ready to submit your contract offers, please submit them through the SIM CLIENT. It must include the term, salary, signing bonus and calculated contract value. Be sure to save your client file and upload it to the website.
Any players who are not tendered a contract offer will become unrestricted free agents.
Please have your contracts submitted no later than 11:59pm EDT on Thursday.
This way, if there are any offer sheets submitted, teams will have the opportunity to match the offer on Friday.
