But yeah, if you're going to look it up, I'll just give some names that I think don't have the ratings they should (there's not many, but they're kinda important)

Evgeni Malkin : He's below Pominville and Kunitz on the list.
Ryan Suter : I'm fairly certain he's better than DIon Phaneuf ;)
Duncan Keith : Also a top 5 d in the league. He's below Phaneuf as well...
Erik Karlsson, Alex Pietrangelo and Ryan McDonagh are all very low as well, especially the first two.
Drew Doughty : Fairly certain he's better than Alex Goligoski, or any dman in the league not named Weber in fact.
Daniel Sedin : Should be higher than guys like Troy Brouwer, that's for sure
Kris Letang : MEthot, Jokinen, Zidlicky, Lecavalier are ahead...
Erik Johnson : #1D is below Orpik and Boyle. He's ranked between Matt Cooke and Edler on the overall list.
Vlasic : He's even lower than Erik Johnson
Keith Yandle : Even lower than that
Cam Fowler : #1D, same overall as John Mitchell and Mark Letestu...
Shattenkirk : He's even lower than that.
Tarasenko : Right there with Lars Eller, Umberger and Killorn. Would make a great 3rd line winger maybe
Braun : Top pairing D sitting between Max Talbot and Mike Weaver...
Alzner and Myers are right there too...
Granlund, Gallagher and Trouba are very low too. Same with Dekeyser and Tanev.
Monahan, Scheifele, Nino and Kreider aren't NHLers, same with Bjugstad and Hamilton... Add Coyle, H. Lindholm, Galchenyuk, Krug, Girgensons, Jenner, Murray, Barkov, Vatanen and Maatta to this list.

It just feels like those are ratings from 2 years ago. All the young guys that broke out last year suck badly. If we're going to go with this, my lists will change drastically, which is fine. I just want to know what the plan is regarding those guys that are franchise cornerstones for their teams for the most part.

- Do not check only the "OV" rating, it's just an average. For example, check the "DF" rating of Vlasic and Tanev.

- You're right for the injured players, it's a little weak of LCHV's ratings. But it's not a problem for me, the ratings will be adjusted next season.

- For the young players it's normal, this ratings are not made with only one NHL season.

I'm not worried with this ratings, the simulation will be realistic.

Oh, I look at every single rating when picking a player. It's just that Vlasic, who's a top 20 D in this league, can't have ratings this bad. I know his D is good, but it's not like the rest of his overall game is supposed to be bad.

As for young players, I don't mind it. It just means that if I decide to draft these guys that I think are already NHL cornerstones, I'll be performing two years after the players actually perform as top players, which I don't mind either.

It's just that if we go this way, I have to change plans.

If ya'll are looking for the perfect rates set - we might as well close shop lol

Been doin this for over 15 yrs and YES there are some solid rate systems out there but there is ALWAYS some weird outcomes because of the way the stats are calculated!

I dont care , lets just draft and make some trades :)

Like I mention before, in my personal opinion, and I've been running a sim league for years now, the SIMHL ratings package is a lot more accurate.

I agree. The SIMHL seems more accurate.

I didn't go through it all that thorough so far, but the biggest thing that jumped to me was how low the passing ratings are for two of the very best passers in the league, Duncan Keith and Erik Karlsson. Now I know that Kev said that the SIM loves D players getting points, that may be true, but to have Duncan Keith and Erik Karlsson rated 74 and 73 respectively in passing, which results in tied for 80th and 90th best passer rating is not right. Down right disrespectful to be honest! lol. Keith and Karlsson had 55 and 54 assists and were 6th and 7th best, respectively, in the league in assists. They should not be rated lower in passing then almost all the guys rated higher then them, especially Drouin, Connor McDavid and Jake Eichel, who haven't done anything in the NHL. To me that makes no sense, and actually really bothers me. I'm sure there are a ton of other examples, but those 2 in particular caught my eye and should be adjusted greatly

SimHL's ratings were a catastrophe this year. A TON of players missing and they didn't update anyone's ratings from the year before if they didn't play in the NHL. Another thing was that a players that led the AHL in scoring last season had some of the lowest ratings in the package if they played 1 or 2 NHL games with zeroes thru their stat lines. I expect way better out of SimHL than what they put out this year.

His defense is high and his offensive ratings are average. His ratings aren't remotely close to being bad.

And if I understand, I could draft Drouin, Hayes and Griffin but not the others ?
