The beginning of the random drawing was very awkward. If it makes you feel any better tho, I do think Peters has some decent enough potential. The Hurricanes have actually been a much better defensive team this season with him and you would never know it but their PK is 2nd in the NHL despite their 27th overall record. My only question is whether he can prove he can coach the offensive side of the game or if he's better suited as an assistant coach on the defensive side.Predators wrote:I had 4th pick and end up with Bill Peters? I don't think there's a problem with Peters coaching ability as there is with the Hurricanes' roster going forward. Their prospect pool isn't great, they're absolutely wasting 7 million dollars a year on Alex Semin, Eric Staal might not come back at the end of this contract and they have below average goaltending and a huge deficit of talent on the blueline. I'm not sure how coaches ratings work exactly but I don't see Carolina being a good team for a long, long time.
