As much as we'd love to let Jason Demers chase his Olympic dream he's needed in Vancouver and will not be granted leave.

Gusev has informed Detroit even though he has been picked to play for the Mother Land he has declined their invite and wishes to stay in Detroit.

We just slapped the 'C' on Tyler Wotherspoons chest in Worcester and now he wants to leave for Beijing?! Forget it! We will not be granting him leave.

Due to recent injuries in Utica, Alexander Yelesin will not be released to play in the Olympics.

Unfortunately Eric Staal will also not be released due to injuries in Utica and the fact that he is needed in the press box each game
