2019 Preseason

With the way things are lining up with coach free agency, I'm expecting nearly every coaching vacancy to be filled tonight. Almost every GM is leading on their top choice. There are a couple of teams that can throw a wrench into this but we'll see. (I have a plan to resolve one of these if things remain as-is.)

SO! I think we can begin preseason games as early as Wednesday or Thursday! I am tentatively announcing the start for Wednesday, December 4. To save time, this year's preseason has been condensed to 2 NHL games and 2 AHL games. I usually encourage everyone to goof around with their lineups and experiment with different combinations, just as a real team would during the preseason. Most of you will still be able to do this in your Day 1 NHL game but it's going to be a tight squeeze.

All players will be officially considered as "in training camp" with their NHL clubs on Monday. You may reassign players to the AHL as you wish, but you MUST be able to dress a full 20-man farm lineup by the time AHL games tentatively begin. That would essentially be before Friday.If you have players that you plan to send down for the AHL preseason that must clear through waivers first, please do this at least two days early so that they will be eligible to play these games if they are not claimed!! I tried to backload everyone's AHL games as best as I could to ease the chaos that I know will be coming from waivers and I'll see what I can do if someone really gets screwed by this on the day of their first AHL game.

Lineup warnings and notifications will be issued but will not go against your record during the preseason (except for the AHL deadline stated above). All injuries and suspensions incurred during the preseason do carry over into the regular season.

I think there might be an issue with anyone trying to place players on waivers today. If you can't do it to the sim, just send me a message of who you're trying to send down and I'll take care of it manually for you.
