New GM In The Mile High City

In a press release from the clubs ownership group yesterday, The Colorado Avalanche have announced the hiring of GM Kirklan Lycar. The Hiring is the clubs third general manager in EHE franchise history. Fans will be happy to see the move, as the club had been without a manager for an extended period of time.

When asked what it means to be named the clubs GM Lycar expressed his gratitude "Obviously it`s a huge priveledge to come to an organization like the Avs and it is something I have worked towards for some time.

In regards to what the future holds, Lycar remained quite optimistic "We have been bounced from the playoffs in the first round each of the past two years, and it`s time for our organization to take the next step, I am commited to putting the pieces in place that will help us do so."

Time will tell what the future holds for the Avs, but for now... It is onward and upward.
