Bruins Draft Preview

As we approach draft day, the Boston Bruins GM has been working like a fiend to try and acquire quality draft picks and roster depth.  GM O'Blenes has made 4 trades thus far and been in discussions for many others.  Several have come close to fruition but never materialized.  "You know, if you actually kept track, I'd say that 90% of discussions never end up in a trade happening right then.  But you get information from the other teams.  It could lead to future talks that lead to a deal happening or could just lead to a friendly conversation about players, prospects and teams.  We all love hockey and it's why we're here."

Taking a look at what he's accomplished so far has shown a couple of good players out, and although there weren't any big names come back in, they have time to become that.  The biggest deal was sending Matt Dumba to Buffalo for what translates to three first round draft choices.  All in all the following assets are what has made the turnstiles keep moving.

OUT: Jaden Schwartz, Danton Heinen, Matthew Dumba, 2019 1 BOS, 2 SJ, 4 CBJ and $500k cash

IN: Colton Sissons, Alexander Alexeyev, Joshua Norris, Kiefer Bellows, William Lagesson, 2019 1 BUF, 1 PIT, 1 CHI, 3 WSH, 4 SJ, 2020 2 CBJ

As per team policy, they don't reveal any strategies or clues to who they are targeting but that they will always do what's best for the organization.  But looking at their depth charts, one could presume they will look to add at the forward position and at some point address the need for goalies in the system.

Good luck to all tomorrow.  I"m sure we will see more deals take place and have an exciting draft.
