Jamie Benn and Bo Horvat named to EHE All Star game 2019-03-12 SAN JOSE - EHE Commissioner Kevin Lacy announced today the rosters for the 2019 EHE All Star Game. Team captain and leading scorer Jamie Benn (31G 33A 49GP) is now a three time, three time, three time EHE All Star (2016, 2018, 2019), having been named to Team Tremblay, and Bo Horvat (21G 35A 49GP) has been named to his first EHE All Star Game for Team Chiu. This marks the second time that multiple Penguins have been named to the EHE All Star Game. In 2018, Devan Dubnyk, Alex Goligoski, and Jamie Benn were all named to the game in Tampa Bay. Jamie Benn: "It's always a huge honor being named to these, you're on a national stage and have a large audience who all believes you're great and wants to see you play. It'll be nice to get away from the season for a bit and just recharge and have a lot of fun with some of the other guys. We're kindof slumping right now and this break is gonna be huge for us to get our heads on straight and push for the playoffs." Bo Horvat: "I'm very blessed to have been named to this game. I feel like I'm playing well this year but a lot of that is because of my teammates and family. They support me and encourage me to be my best on a nightly basis. It'll be nice to meet some of the guys I haven't met before and get to know them. I do know a few guys, obviously Dewy (Drew Doughty) from our summer training in London and Connor (McDavid) from our junior days, but a lot of the guys I'll be meeting for the first time and I'm excited." GM Gurtowski: "Having multiple all stars is always something we try to strive for, as we feel we have one of the best teams in the league, and I feel like all of our guys are all stars in one way or another. To see Jamie and Bo get this chance to show their craft on a national platform is huge for our hockey club but for them individually as well." Coach Julien was complimentary of Benn and Horvat's naming to the EHE All Star Game, but indicated that there was still a goal that needed to be achieved: "We're obviously super proud of them, and they deserve this break as does the rest of our team. But when we come back from the break, it's gonna be a lot of hard work and solid efforts to work ourselves out of this funk. We have the tools to get it done, we just need to dig in and go." The Penguins (27-19-3) return to action on March 14th against the San Jose Sharks (23-20-5), having lost 10 of their last 12 games to fall from 1st to 4th in the Metropolitan Division.
